BODY AESTHETICS

J-PLASMA.

What is J-Plasma?

Plasma is created by adding energy to a gas, just as a liquid can become a gas. With its high level of precision and minimal thermal emission, J-Plasma is a method that can enable surgical and non-surgical treatment in a wide range of specialties and procedures.

J-Plasma is a new minimally invasive procedure used in body contouring and skin tightening that both tightens and sculpts loose skin anywhere on the body. It is performed with a special device that delivers “helium plasma” and radiofrequency energy through small incisions to the undersurface of the skin in the areas to be tightened. J-Plasma can be performed alone or in combination with liposuction (more often). The combination of fat removal with liposuction followed by skin tightening with J-Plasma provides a significant tightening and improvements in body contours.

Cold atmospheric plasma (CAP)

Cold atmospheric plasma (CAP) has been the subject of numerous scientific studies over the past few years due to its ability to preferentially destroy different types of cancer and bacterial cells. The CAP produced by J-Plasma results in high electric fields that can act individually and synergistically on charged particles, biological cells.

This research has demonstrated the utility of CAP for many therapeutic and cosmetic applications, and ongoing studies continue to uncover new medical uses for cold plasma. J-Plasma is an energy device that incorporates the advanced benefits of CAP and is configured for use in open, laparoscopic and robotic procedures.

How is J-Plasma Applied?

First, 2-3 mm hole incisions are made. After giving fluid to the area to be treated with the same local allesan anesthesia we use for liposuction and waiting for a certain period of time, if Liposuction and J-Plasma will be performed together, liposuction is performed first. Then the J-Plasma cannula is inserted through the holes opened for the liposuction cannulas and helium plasma energy is given to the deep, medium and superficial level in the area between the subcutaneous and muscle fascia, and tightening is achieved in a controlled manner. Helium plasma energy not only tightens the skin by up to 30% in the first moment, but also stimulates collagen production in the treated skin, so that healing and tightening continues for 6-9 months after the procedure.

The J-Plasma procedure is performed in the operating room under local tumescent anesthesia and general anesthesia.

What is Helium Plasma Energy?

Helium is normally an inert non-reactive gas, but when ionized by radiofrequency energy it becomes very reactive, a state scientists call “plasma”. When helium plasma comes into contact with the undersurface of the skin, it provides an immediate and significant tightening. In addition, helium plasma is much cooler than other energy-based treatments, so there is no risk of burns. J-Plasma is an FDA approved application that can be applied to the skin, arms, neck, torso, back, abdomen, thighs, etc. almost anywhere on the body.

Who are the Ideal Candidates for J-Plasma?

J-Plasma in the body area can be performed on all age groups. The best candidates are those with mild to moderate skin laxity due to aging, weight loss or pregnancy. For men and women with more advanced needs, the procedure should be performed in combination with more invasive surgeries such as liposuction and/or tummy tuck.

What Happens After J-Plasma? When Will I See the Results?

After the procedure, a tightening of approximately 30% is immediately achieved in the J plasma treated area, with dramatic improvement usually occurring within a month following the procedure. As helium energy stimulates collagen formation for three to six months after the procedure, tightening and improvement gradually increase over 6-9.

What is the Recovery Time from J-Plasma?

Mild swelling and slight bruising can be expected after this procedure. These usually disappear within 7 to 14 days. If liposuction is performed together with J-Plasma, the recovery time is not longer than the patient who underwent liposuction alone. The corsets used after liposuction should also be used with J-Plasma. And as it is, you can return to light sedentary work in 5-6 days. After the procedure, there may be a mild to moderate pain that can be tolerated with painkillers. You may also feel numbness in the application area for a certain period of time.

Where is J-Plasma Made in the Body? Where is it Especially Effective?

J-Plasma can be used almost anywhere on the body where skin is loose and needs to be tightened. The most effective areas are the sagging skin of the upper arms, neck, back skin under the bra, sides, inner upper legs and the entire abdomen. People with sagging lower abdominal skin after pregnancy or weight loss, for whom liposuction alone is not sufficient, can often achieve a very satisfactory improvement with J-Plasma. Effectively tightening sagging upper arm skin has always been difficult without surgical excision (brachioplasty); now in many cases J-Plasma added to liposuction can provide an effective alternative without incision.

J-Plasma is also more successful when used in conjunction with liposuction to prevent skin laxity and sagging that may occur after liposuction in all people undergoing liposuction.
