FACIAL AESTHETICS
Hair loss is a condition caused by genetic, hormonal changes and aging that causes physical and psychological problems in both men and women. Hair loss can also occur due to various dermatological diseases, burns and accidents.
The hair follicles are in a cycle that consists of a long period of development and then a short period of rest. During the rest period, the hair is tied to the root, but there is no growth. At the end of the rest period, the hair falls out of the hair follicle and a new hair begins to develop. The length of the rest period increases with age. Usually the development period (anagenase) lasts 3-5 years, followed by the resting period (telogen phase) after the transition period of one to two weeks (catagenase) and lasts 3-4 months.
While men experience rare or bald hair loss due to the loss of hair follicles at the top and forehead, there is no hair loss in the area between the two ears in the neck area. This is because there are two different hair follicles. Hair follicles in the forehead and part of the crown are sensitive to the hormone testosterone. This hormone effect damages the hair follicles and the hair then falls out. The second type of hair follicle is not sensitive to the hormone testosterone. Because of this, they don’t fail. Here is the hair transplant process; takes the hair follicles, which are not sensitive to the hormone in the back of the head, and plants them on the hairless areas of the forehead and parting. The hair follicles planted in this way are never rejected because they are not sensitive to hormones.
One of the most important developments in aesthetic and plastic surgery in recent years is hair restoration with mini and micro transplantation. With this technique, more natural and successful results can be achieved compared to other methods. This method can be summarized by removing a long, elliptically shaped skin (FUT) from the area around the neck, dividing the hair follicles in this strip of skin into groups of one to three, or removing the roots individually using a special motor (FUE) and be transplanted one after the other into the area to be restored.
The hair transplant procedure can be performed using sedation through local anesthesia, regardless of whether it is FUT or FUE.
